    Question Big shot

    Hi,

'he turned out to be a rich man, a big shot executive'

What does 'big shot' mean?. I didn't find it's meaning in the dictionary...Is the term used correctly here and is it used often?

    Many thanks

It is slang. It means a powerful authoritative figure, especially in business.
