Dear all,

Since there is a word call pre-requisite, is there a word call post-requisite as well? I want to have a topic/heading to state all activities that required to conduct before/after data is migrated to a new platform, so do you think is correct and appropriate to have headings like these??

1.Pre-Requisite for Data Migration
2.Post-Requisite for Data Migration

Thank you very much.

Neither dictionary.com nor onelook.com have post-requisite. How about post-migration requirements? ;-)

A pre-requisite is something you have to do before you can do something else. A post-requisite would, I suppose, be the opposite--something you have to do after you do something else. (Obviously, there hasn't been much need for such a word.) Perhaps Tdol's suggestion will fit your requirements.

:)

Postrequisite has been used and would likely be understood, but I would probably try for an alternative. Here is one use from Harvard University web site. That is pretty high up there.

Policies and Procedures: Ph.D. Program
... In addition, students are advised and expected to take pre-requisite (preparatory) or post-requisite (supplementary) courses according to their individual ...

That should be "advice". It is almost always uncountable.

You're very welcome.
