Thread: still worried!

    Default still worried!

    Consider:
1-I am worried about getting caught.
2-I am worried about my getting caught.
3-I am worried about me getting caught.

In which case the getting caught is:
a-a possibility (I am worried that I might get caught)
b-a certainty (I did, or will get caught and am worried about the consequences)
    c-depends on the context.

    I would say either:
    • I am worried about getting caught.

    Or:
    • I am worried that I might get caught.

The other sentences are not idiomatic English. They are quite unlikely, and I recommend against using them.

    :)

I agree with Ron, although I could create circumstances that would allow #2 or #3. In all three cases, I would say that the speaker has not yet been caught.

I'd be more likely to use me\my getting caught with 'I worry'.
