    Post Phrasal verb and the noun

    He knocked the vase over.
    He knocked over the vase.

    Which of these two sentences is right?

    The first would be most common. If this person knocked over several things, you wouldn't separate the verb and particle: He knocked over the vase, the photograph, and the house of cards.. But in most contexts you should.
