Lightbulb usage of -ing in making a noun

    - she always tell the truth.
    - yes, it is beacuse of her being honest (that is, honesty)

why did the speaker prefer -ing form ?
is there any rule or "language habit" about that ?

    Hi there CB,

It's just one way to say it and it means the same thing as, "She is an honest person".

yes, it is because of her being an honest person.

yes, it is because she is an honest person.
