    Question Noun or Verb Phrase

    If a teacher requests a brief noun or verb phrase, is this example phrase wrong?
    "Yelling scares many children."

    Let's parse it.

    yelling (gerund)
    scares (verb)
    many (adjective)
    children (noun)

    yelling (subject)
    scares (verb)
    many children (object)

    yelling (noun phrase)
    scares (verb phrase)
    many children (noun phrase)
