    Red face 'eat a humble pie' & ' eat crow' ---Wats d difference?

    M not able to differentiate b/w 'eat a humble pie' & ' eat crow' ?
    Plz specify are they synonym kind of thing or do we have some diff. b\w the two..

    There is a slight difference, but not much. 'Eat crow' I suspect is AmE and 'Humble pie' BrE

    They are both 'Idioms'

    Eat Humble Pie, without the indefinte article.

    Forgive my ignorance, but will you interpret the terms 'definite article' and 'indefinite article'.

    a = indefinite article as your not defining one specific subject/object
    the = definite article as your are defining a specific ..etc

    A tree could be any of many
    The tree is the only tree in question

    To 'eat humble pie' is something you do, if you apologize for something, and are somewhat remorseful...'eat crow' means you were wrong about something, usually in a boastful way, and have to admit to your error...
