    Default grammar

Please help. Do the sentences shown below sound correct?

We agree an importance to characterize the accurate predictor of choledocholithiasis among patients with non-specific abdominal pain. However, your results and conclusion have been known already in practice.
Editorial board has to decide your submitted manuscript is not acceptable for publication because there are no new findings on this aspect.

    How about:

We agree on the importance of an accurate predictor of choledocholithiasis among patients with non-specific abdominal pain. However, your results and conclusion are already known in practice.
The editorial board has decided your submitted manuscript is not acceptable for publication because there are no new findings on this.

Note- 'an accurate predictor' sounds better to me, but if there is only one possible way of predicting, then the definite article would be OK.
