    Dear Teachers,

    Is the following sentence correct ?

    Following in the footsteps of her idol , she has trained very hard to be a champion .

    Another question:

    The 2004 Power Run was a fruitful outing for eight closely-knitted runner from Queenstown.
    They provided the competitive edge and gave other runners a good run for their money .They were rewarded .To be precise , the pocketed $2,000 out of the total prize money that was an offer.
    Jane and Jasmine secured a one-two finish in the women's veteran 7km race.
    Jane can rest assured that her running legacy is going to be carried on by her two daughters, Jenny and Melissa.Mellisa won the women's 7km junior race while her elder , Jenny settled for fourth place in the women's 10km.
    In the men's category, Bridford finished fifth in the men's 7km senior veteran while young David came in second the school boys 5km with a time of 20min 0 sec.

    The sentence is correct. I'm not sure what your question about the text is, but it is rather difficult to read, IMO.

    I agree with TDOL about the sentence. It is very good.
