I'm from Viet Nam. I'm teaching English at a general school. But unfortunately my English is very poor. My listening skill is bad. I am trying to listen to the English teaching programs on Australia Network TV but I can understand the Presenter-Teachers only because they speak slowly . I can't understand other programs. There are some English Teaching Centers in my city but they are too expensive for me to attend. I wish I had time and money to learn English on the Internet because I have to do hundreds of nameless things at school. I have to teach large classes ( 45 students ) and teach over-time classes on Sundays. I have to stay up lale to prepare lessons and grade papers. I don't have a true day-off during a semester. How can I improve my English ?
Secondly I'm not sure that even if the teacher is experienced he can teach 45 students in one classroom. We usually devide more than 25 students into two or three groups. You ask how you can improve your English. Keep on listening to English programs on TV and on the radio too. Don't worry if you don't understand everything. Just listen and try to immitate them when you teach at school, I mean the pronunciation. In two or three months you'll feel that you understand most of the things they say. You can also find someone and speak Endlish to him. And finally listen to English songs when you have nothing to do. Good luck! I know you are a good teacher. If not you'll be one very soon.
