    What is the difference between `idioms' and `proverbs'?

    Idiom = a group of words whose meaning cannot be deduced from those of the individual words (e.g. over the moon)

    proverb = a short saying stating a general truth or piece of advice.

    I think it is good question.

    Is there any thread dealing with difference between (phrase, idioms, proverbs)?

    Because, I also has this doubt for many years.
