    Default distribute or hand out

Hallo, I would like to know what is correct. If a teacher wants to give students their exercise books which are signed and let somebody to do it should he say distribute or hand out those exercise books. Thank you for your advice.

...and 'hand out' is separable, so you could say either 'hand out these books' ('these' rather than 'those', as I assume the teacher is handing a pile of books to the person chosen to give them out) or 'hand these books out' (or - more likely, I think - just 'hand these out').
