    No, sugar and sand are different things though they both are granular.

    What am I missing here?

    No one can possibly believe that "there is a lot of nice sand" could be an answer to the question "How much sugar is on the shelf"

    Diplomacy please explain, are these separate scentences or not?

    These scentences can't have anything to do with each other, so.....
