Default 'so much read about' or 'read so much about'

Which one of these sentences is correct?
1.'All these stories we so much read about today...'
2.'All these stories we read so much about today....'
And what could the explanation be?

Neither is correct. We read so much about all these stories today.... is better, I think.

I don't think I presented the sentence well. The whole sentence should read; 'If it had been in our power to decide what we looked like, there wouldn't be all these eating disorder stories we so much read about today.'. Now how is that? Is it still wrong or should it have been 'we read so much about'?

Mmh, strange! I wonder why my teacher changed it to '(...) we read so much about...'!!!! Maybe he just thought it sounded better that way. But Iam glad then to know that my formulation was not wrong! thanks!

The first one sounds awkward to me, Anges. I don't understand what it means. Consider,

    We so much read
    We a lot read

    We read so much about
    We read a lot about

    so much
    adv.
    1. In that degree; to that extent. Used with the comparative form of adjectives: If she wins the award, so much the better for the team.
    2. In such a degree; to such an extent: The ideas of the candidates are so much alike that he could see no difference between them.
    so much
    adj.
    1. So great in quantity, degree, or extent: There's been so much rain the crops are rotting in the fields.

If you read my second posting which has the full sentence, perhaps you will see my point...

'If it had been in our power to decide what we should look like, there would not be all these eating disorder stories we so much read about today'. That is the whole sentence.
