    main current

    perpetual --- main current of thought or behavior.


    What does `main current' mean in the above?

    A river has a main current that takes most of the water down it, with subsidiary currents where the flow is interrupted.

    So, the "main current of thought/behaviour" is the line of thought/behaviour most generally used.

    However, Perpetual means "never-ending/continual".
