    Question Grammar help needed

    Hi Folks,

could someone help me to sort the following doubts pls.

    Relative Pronouns

    1) Columbus (who or whom) most people believe discovered America, never did discover it at all.

    2) The uncle (whom or who) I am living with has three daughters & five sons.

    Definite & Indefinite Articles
    1) empty vessel makes (the, a) most noise.
    2) If you turn the 'm'upside down, it looks like (the,a) 'w'.

    The Silent h
Can u please expain including vowel sounds.

An hour (h silent - hour starts with a vowel sound - is it because it sounds "our")

A hot dog (why is the h mute here? - is it because if we pronounce it without the h - "ot" - it wouldnt make any sense?)

    A university (starting - younivesity)

An unusual sitiuation - why not a unusual situation?
    A uniform (youniform)

    Adverbs

    1) He tore up the the letter angrily.
    2) He angrily tore up the letter.
(both seem correct, but which is most correct one?)
before the verb or after the verb & why?
Please expain the position of the adverb - before the verb or after the verb & why including theone below.

    3) She spoke angrily for a few minutes.

    Thanks

    I personally prefer 1
place adverbs almost wherever you want
I do not think it is a good idea to swot the rules for where adverbs should sit.
Read much, then you will learn their possible positions in a sentence.
