    fly backwards several feet

    Mr Combs, 37, then allegedly swore before hitting Mr Rechnitzer, causing him to "fly backwards several feet" into a vehicle behind him.

    What does `swore', `fly backwards several feet' means in this sentence?

    Swear = use obscene language
    fly backwards- hit him so hard that he fell back a few metres
