    preposition question

    Hi Teachers,

Which preposition should be used in the following sentence? "From" or "of" ?

"This item must not be taken out without the approval __ the manager."

    Thank you for your help!

    Re: preposition question

This item must not be taken out without the approval of the manager.

    But also:

This item must not be taken out without approval from the manager.

    Re: preposition question

You usually get approval of something and approval for something from someone.

My pick: approval from the manager.
