I'm not sure if I'm being excessive in my APA in-text citations. I know the purpose of a citation is to give credit where it is due but I'm not sure if I'm citing too often. Thanks for the help.
Here is the intro:
United Parcel Service (UPS) is the world's largest package delivery company, delivering more than 14 million packages a day to more than 200 countries around the world. UPS was started in 1907, when 19-year-old Jim Casey founded the American Messenger Company in Seattle, Washington (“History,” n.d.). After a merger in 1913, Merchants Parcel Delivery was formed, focusing on package transportation (“History,” n.d.). In 1919, the company expanded beyond Seattle and changed their name to United Parcel Service (“History,” n.d.). Through various acquisitions over the following few decades, the company grew to encompass several different related industries. Today they have numerous holdings in not only ground and air transport, but are also one of the global leaders in logistics and heavy freight services.
That seems a bit over the top to me. I think one reference could cover the three sentences as it's all the same book.
