As of today Mumbai's power demands are - 2600 MW with a buffered supply of only 2200 MW. Currently the city buys 210 MW from other power agencies leading to a shortfall of 150 MW. While the rest of Maharashtra faces a shortfall of 4800 MW this summer.

Please explain the highlighted group of words.

Basically Mumbai's requirement of electricity is 2600 megawatts per day, of which 2200 megawatts are supplied from its own power production. It buys in another 210 megawatts from other sources. This leaves 150 megawatts short of the total of 2600 needed (a shortfall).
