In an exclusive interview to CNN-IBN's Editor-in-Chief Rajdeep Sardesai, Mulayam also commented on Rahul's statement that the demolition of Babri mosque would not have taken place had a member of Nehru-Gandhi family been in politics at that time.

I think something is implicit before `had a member ......... at that time'
If you tell me this, I can grasp meaning of this sentence.
    Could you help me?

the demolition of Babri mosque would not have taken place, had a member of Nehru-Gandhi family been in politics at that time If a member of the Nehru/Ghandi family had been active in politics at that time (whenever that time is), the Bhari mosque would not have been demolished.
