    Default mutual signing

    Hi,

could you please tell me whether it is possible to say "mutual signing of a contract"?

    Thank you very much.

In terms of grammar, yes. In terms of semantics, I'm not sure what a lawyer would think.

    All the best.

And could you provide any similar alternatives meaning that both parties signed the contract? Bilateral signing? That doesn´t sound any better

Sorry. I'm not familiar with Contractual Law. Hopefully, someone who does will come along with a few examples for you.

    All the best.

There are prescriptivists who hold - in the face of overwhelming evidence o the contrary - that 'mutual' should be reserved for cases of reciprocality - for example 'mutual admiration' or 'mutual recrimination'. But most native speakers ignore this canard, as Charles Dickens did when he wrote Our Mutual Friend.

I think the legal term for two people signing a contract (if they're both on one side of the contractual obligation) is 'joint signatories'.
