    Default Apostrophe 's'

Sorry, this has been posted further down but I would like to get reconfirmation.
Is it correct to use the apostrophe 's' in the following phrases? Can it always be used for objects, place names instead of people? I have been under the impression that it sounds a bit odd when used with 'objects'.

    - car's boot

    - town's people

    - London's train

    -supermarket's trollies

I don't think so.you can use them at them after the 's' like
    towns' people.
