    a small question

    Computer is one of the most..............achievements of the 20th century

    1.surprising
    2.amazing
    3.shocking
    4.astonishing

    which word would you choose?my book said it was "amazing",but I think all of them are ok in this sentence,your opinion?

    Well, was it a surprise, that is, was it unanticipated? Was it a shock, was it unexpected; was it an astonishment, a great surprise? No, on all three counts, but it certainly was amazing, that is, it was and is remarkable).
