I don't want to use "it" after "speak" because that "speaking quietly" applies to speaking anything, not just English.

Dihen, I'm not sure how your response relates to the topic of this thread.

The pronoun it refers back to the noun english:

john3_10: could any one here show me how to speak english in a library.
Mister Micawber: Speak it very quietly!

Mister Micawber was making a joke.

    All the best.

Do you mean a conversation with the library staff? For example, how to check out a book, how to find a book, and so on?

    What about?

I'm new to this library. Could you show me how to find a book?

I'm looking for this book, journal, article on the subject of__________.
    The title is__________.
The author's name is __________. / The authors' names are________.
It was published in (the following year) ________.

Where can I find this book, journal, article?
Where can I find books on this subject, __________?
Where can I find books by this author, __________?
    Please, show me.

Can I check this book out (of the library)?
How many days can I check it out for?

Can I photocopy this book? Will the library do it for me?

The book I want has been checked out by someone else. Could you tell me when the book is due back, and if there is a waiting list that I can put my name on?

The book I want is at another library. Is it possible to get an interlibrary loan, and if so, how many days will it take?

    Hope that helps.
