    Smile a tourist attraction

The town has developed from a small fishing village into a major tourist attraction in just ten years.

There are many terms for tourist attraction--scenic spot/resort, but I'm not sure if they are interchangeable here.
    Are they not? Thanks

    Re: a tourist attraction

A scenic spot can be a tourist attraction; I'm not sure a tourist attraction can be a scenic spot in itself.

A resort is somewhere that people go to for relaxation.

    Thanks, Anglika.
I think I get the hang of them.

    Re: a tourist attraction

A tourist attraction is something that attracts visitors to come and look at it (and hopefully spend money while they're there). Sometimes tourist attractions are scenic spots, like the Smoky mountains, and sometimes they're just plain goofy, like the World's Biggest Ball of Twine.

"plain goofy" - adjective (goofier, goofiest) informal 1 chiefly N. Amer. foolish; harmlessly eccentric.
