    eloquent girl my own age

Despite the monumental differences in our situations, I identified strongly with this eloquent girl my own age.

Could anyone rephrase the highlighted parts?

Uuuhh, do you put the adverb before the verb and make it

    "I strongly identified with. . . . . . . "

Here you go my good sir:

"Beside the (very) big differences in our situations, I could really relate to this eloquent girl my own age."

    eloquent: (adj.)

" is well expressed and effective in persuading people."

Is it ok, do you understand?

    Yes.

    Thank you very much.
    Only one doubt :
    I guess,
girl my own age = girl who has same age as me.

    Am I right?
