    comma placement

In a sentence, example, She traveled to New Orleans, LA to visit friends and family. Is there supposed to be a comma placed after LA?

    Re: comma placement

I think, no need to put the comma.

Take a look at these sentences:

    > I went to market to buy some fruits.
    > I bought a gift for him to make him happy.

According to most American styles guides, absolutely yes, you need the comma after the state when used in running text that way.

I lived in Suffern, NY, then in Freeport, ME, and now live in Pennsylvania.
