    Default present perfect confusion

    sam has been talking on the phone for an hour


    could you please expaline me the verb tense here is it present perfect


    i need every thing about this tense



    if I say

    sam is talking on the phone for an hour

    is it correct and why?


    what is the difference between two sentences?

    The first is correct- it shows that he started talking an hour ago and is talking now. The second is incorrect because the present progressive would be used to say that he is on the phone now but not for how long.
