    Default Come and go

What's the differences between "come back" and "go back"?

A mother whose child wanders away will say, "Come back to me", meaning come back to where you were. She adds, "Let's go back (home)", meaning go back to where we were but are not right now.

    Come back (to me)
Go back (to where you were)

    Does that help?

    So we use:
"I will come back there afterwards"
    or
"I will go back there afterwards"?

[1] I will go back there. <far from the speaker>
[2] I will come back here. <close to the speaker>

    Does that help?
