    read from

I have read from a book on English usage that ...

    Is 'from' the correct preposition?

    Thanks.

    Re: read from

Without more context, I would say "in" was the word.

    Re: read from

I have read from a book on English usage that it is not wrong to end a sentence with a preposition.

I think it should be 'in' as you said earlier.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: read from

Anglika is right, "read in a book," is correct here. We usually say, "read from a book," to describe someone reading aloud.
