    Teaching beginners

Hello! I wonder how to begin teaching a student who is a complete beginner< I mean I don't know what to start with? Apart from phonetics, of course. Is it better to start with "to be" or with Present Simple or Present Continuous?
How can I connect all grammar topics together?

    Re: Teaching beginners

I believe that the grammatical approach with complete beginners is too restricting and boring. In my experience it is better to start with topics and expand from there using the appropriate grammar and vocabulary as you procede.

Start with common or known English words and build on creatively fro there.

    Best of luck
