I've never heard that before either.

The only thing I can think of is "dog-ear(ed)".

    dog-ear (dōg'īr', dŏg'-)
    n.
    A turned-down corner of a page in a book.

    tr.v., -eared, -ear·ing, -ears.
To turn down the corner of (the page of a book).
To make worn or shabby from overuse.
    dog'-eared' adj.
