    Can someone tell me if these are the same and correct? Sorry, I dont understand when to use plural food

    pizza is an Italian food
    pizza is Italian food

    Both are correct. One is precise - pizza is an Italian food; one is general - pizza is Italian food.

    "Foods" is used in relation to differing kinds of food - Pizza and pasta are both foods; Meat and vegetables are different foods
