    throughout

    Does this sentece make sense:

She was in the top charts, with six different hits, throughout the year

The meaning is: this pop singer had in one year six hits topping the charts. I cannot change my sentence, but I am looking for an expression to convey the idea of throughout and I am not sure if throughout is ok.

Also I am thinking ot this alternative: in the course of the year

    Thanks

    Re: throughout

'in the course of the year' sounds good. 'Throughout' makes it sounds as though she spent the whole year at the top of the charts - rather than coming and going (sometimes in the top ten, occasionally dropping out of the top 40, but usually 'there or thereabouts').

I'm sorry you can't change the sentence though - 'in the top charts' isn't right. Maybe it's a typo for 'in the pop charts'. Otherwise it should be something like 'at the top of the charts'.

Thanks a lot, Bob. How about "She topped the charts, with six different hits, in the course of the year"?
    Thanks
