    Default Is 'one' needed?

A Google search indicates that the phrase is one used in India and the Far East.

    Is 'one' necessary?

    Many thanks.

    2. A Google search indicates that the phrase is used in India and the Far East.

Do both sentences have the same meaning or is the first sentence incorrect because of 'one'?

    Many thanks.

My sentence originally - both are correct. Including "one" indicates that it is a phrase that is used in these regions particularly. Omitting it leaves the implication that the phrase is used in these regions as well as elsewhere.
