    Default grammatically correct sentence?

Sometimes people want to look especially good. They are willing to spend more than their budget allows. The least important idea at this time is saving money. And this is of having an attractive appearance undermined by the idea.

I know what the frist three sentences mean.
But the last sentence is hard to get.
    Is that sentence grammatically correct?

    Hi, Tdol.
If the last sentence doesn't make sense, how can it be changed?
    Please give me your opinion.

    1. This is undermined by the idea of having an attractive appearance.
    2. This is undermined by the idea of having attractive appearances.
( Between singular and plural, what would you use?)

    3. This is of having attractive appearances undermined by the idea.

In my opinion, #1 is the best.
But one of the teachers, Enlgish teacher who is Korean, thinks #3 is the best sentence.
    What do you think?
    And how about #2?
