    paid

Anglika's paraphrase paid the original the compliment of glossing over an error.

What does `paid' mean in this sentence?

    Re: paid

Thank you Casiopea. I got it.

But still I cannot understand the sentence altogether, though I know the meaning of each word individually.

    Could anyone rephrase it?

    Re: paid

I understood the sentence as (Anglika complimented/supported the error without caring about it)

    Am I right?
