Corporate lawyers get very upset about this sort of thing, because it is easier to protect the copyright of a word if it is invariable. In a former life, where I worked for a company who made a computer that had the copyright-protected name 'VAX', people kept arguing about the plural of this name - VAXes or VAXen (formed on the analogy of many other irregular plurals). The lawyers said there was no argument; there just wasn't a plural. If you wanted to refer to more than one VAX, you had to write 'VAX computers' or 'VAX systems' or something like that.

I think the same would apply to most of your list - all except 'stylus'; and I'm with Casi on that one.

    Um... BobK.
If the name was VAX, than the plural would certainly have to be VAXes.

    A consonant cluster /ks/ - X.
So VAXs would be wrong (vekss), and the right form would be VAXes (veksiz).
Correct me if I'm wrong. Note that I'm sleepy!

Not according to the DEC lawyers. Or the in-house style guide based on their advice.

The rest of your post doesn't make any sense to me; who mentioned an e? Am I missing something? I'm tired too...

It is, though an imperfect one - Virtual Address eXtension. There's another sort, with the slogan 'Nothing sucks like a VAX'.
