Doubts about the using of prepositions

Such little words(prepositions), like articles, have made me confused for a long time.

My question is: we understand that intransitive verbs (or even some transitive verbs), adjectives, adverbs, nouns can be followed by prepositions. In these circumstances, when an intransitive verb is followed by another noun in a sentence and a preposition is needed, I just don't know whether the preposition should match with the preceding verb or the noun.

    Hello, albertino.

Don't cry, I'm sure we can solve this :)

But I'd love it you could give us some examples, and tell us exactly what you need.
