    Question after one's heart?

I checked the idiom after you own heart - A person after your own heart thinks the same way as you.

In the Bible (King James Version KJV) we read about David, the man after God's own heart.

Does it mean that David thinks the same way as GOD?
or does it mean something else?

    Re: after one's heart?

The writer of that sentence assumes that God heartily approves of David because David follows God's rules.

    Re: after one's heart?

So the idiom mentioned doesn't apply to the sentence David, the man after God's own heart. ?

How could we use then the idiom after one's own heart?

Yes, it does. (You could say that David thinks the same way God does.)

I would say you are doing just fine. (If you Google that phrase you should find plenty of examples.)

    Re: after one's heart?

unfortunately, I can't use google search here at work, they've blocked it to impede some in searching unuseful sites...

Could you give a couple more examples of the usage of this idiom, thanks!!!

Do you have an idiom for that Anglika, if someone is not after your own heart?
