    Arrow British Accent (RP)

    Respected Sir/Madam,

Hello, I am Veeranjay, from India and i follow RP accent all over while speaking to the native speakers.....

The reason for being here is, i would like to know how RP accent is actually spoken (what are the major differences between American and RP accent)...

Also i would like to know about the 'r' sound in RP accent,

    i.e, Information and guidance on-

    - Zero linking 'R'
    - Linking 'R'
    - and Intrusive 'R'

I would certainly like to have a deep information about these factors in RP accent and also the usage of these facets.......

    Thank you,

    Yours affectionately,

    Veeranjay Pawar

First of all, RP is a very narrowly defined accent and "American" is a very broad set of accents.

But as to the Rs, RP does not have intrusive R.

Conservative RP (ie old style) has zero linking R, but most people who speak with an RP-like accent now use linking Rs.

    Namaste.

    Well, Hello and Namaste,

Perhaps you could suggest me a nice book or any article/s containing relevant information....
    I am in need...

Thank you.......for your time and help....
