    Since there are two of them, you need the plural "occasions". :wink:

    why?
    I would choose the first. Celebration is the main category. The occasions are subgroups.

    Similar are "two types of salad" and "two styles of automobile". Many people, however, use the double plural.

    In English, it would be more natural to say "two holidays" or "two holy days/periods" than "two occasions of celebration".
