    Re: over my dead body

When a person is adamant about something that is not going to happen if he can help it he might say over my dead body.Taken literally, that means you would have to kill him in order to accomplish the proposed action. Example:
A: I want to date your sister.
    B: Over my dead body.

    Re: over my dead body

hi farooq , from what i understand , if i use this expression with any sentence , it means that the speaker will struggle for not letting this thing happened .e.g. John will take the money over my dead body ; it means that john will never take the money and if it happens and he takes it , it will be in only one case that i become dead .so as in the example , this expression means that the possibility of having this thing happened is very very low.
    thank you

I was just making up an example of the usage of the expression. If you really want to date my sister, go right ahead.
