    Which of these sentences are correct:
    1-You have to bring back that machine without a screw missing.
    2-You have to bring back that machine with not a screw missing.
    3-You have to bring back that machine with not one screw missing.

    The first one is correct--no doubt about it. The third one is correct also. I don't like the second one, but that might just be me. Certainly, I would be hard pressed to explain why the second one is incorrect (if it is). Perhaps somebody else will also have an opinion.

    What do you think about:

    and:

    6-You have to bring back that machine with no missing screws.
    and:
    7-You have to bring back that machine with not one missing screw.
    (I think 7 is wrong.)

    The sentences are constructed in a rather unusual manner.

    What the speaker means to say is that he wants the machine brought back without any screws missing. I'm not sure any of those sentences say that. On the other hand, perhaps all of them do. It would be clearer and simpler to say, "Be sure not to lose any of the screws."
