    be committed to

"It is a modern Marxist party committed to democratic socialism.'
I wonder what this 'committed to' means.
    Thank you.

    Re: be committed to

Hi there : I'm not a native nor a teacher

But let me try defining what "committed to" means:

If you are committed to something/ to do something you are willing to work very hard at something:

eg:-Anne is really committed to enrich her students' knowledge.

    Cheers

    Re: be committed to

If you are committed to something you have made an investment of some sort. "It is a modern Marxist party committed to democratic socialism" means that the party in question is trying to bring about a system of democratic socialism (whatever that is).

    Try:

    not, or:
I am not an orange or an apple.

I am not a native speaker or a teacher.
