    Run About

    "-you know plants can feel, know,
    even comprehend
    -They don't run about"
    I can not get what does "run about " mean in above quotation
    May you help me , please?

    To move around from place to place. "We have a large fenced yard so that the dogs can run about during the day."

    I think this is a British usage, not AE.

    Incidentally, plants can locomote - but too slowly for it to be called running.
