    What do you call the sound one makes while dreaming? It seems that he is somewhat troubled in his dream....

    No, not sleep talking but just some noise, distinct noises you make as you were troubled by some nightmare or something....

    You were moaning/crying out in your sleep.

    (When the dog did that, we used to joke that she was chasing rabbits.)

    Yes, that's it. My student asked for that word and I was unable to answer. I reasoned to have it on the tip of my tongue and decided to tell him tomorrow, thanks!

    But, why chasing rabbits?

    Her legs would twitch, she's sound so excited - we imagined that she was dreaming she was chasing a rabbit. In real life, she never had a chance of catching one - but who knows what happens in her dreams?
