    Grammar Jungle....

I am a native english speaker who didnt learn much grammar at school...and am therefore having trouble navigating my way around all the grammar rules I now come into contact with having started some voluntary tesol tutoring!
I need to know how to understand it all before trying to learn the difference between present continuous/perfect etc etc. Going back to the beginning - can someone advise me on a simple way to build a sentence the correct way, therefore identifying what will trigger choosing the correct tense / structure etc rather than it just "sounding right / wrong" which is what I have relied on so far...
    Thank you!

If you want to get back to the absolute basics, start with the parts of speech: http://www.usingenglish.com/glossary...of-speech.html
