    Re: Is sentence correct?

With caution and depending on context, yes.

The boy running is my son
    would be more acceptable.

The running boy is my son.

Being a non-native speaker, I find the above sentence weird and would consider it incorrect.

The running dog is my dog. Is this sentence also correct?

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

    Best wishes.

I am not sure which sentence you find odd. Can you be more explicit?

The running boy is my son.

Being a non-native speaker, I find the above sentence (in bold) weird and would consider it incorrect. I should add that to a native speaker, it is not so.

I would like to confirm whether 'The running dog is my dog' is also correct to a native speaker.

My apologies for the lack of clarity.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Is sentence correct?

    No problem.

In the context of several things happening at once, you want to be sure that someone identifies the right subject. So: there are a lot of dogs about: "The running dog is my dog" identifies the specific animal. There are several children playing: "The running boy is my son".

    Does this make sense?

Thanks for the explanation. It certainly makes sense in the situation you cited.

    Best wishes.
